CULTURE or CONTROL

By Prajna Singh

Crossing through the wilderland, Populace maintained by us, Beauty sustained by us Told to us was the danger is the only visitor, The human, the only creature to lack humanity. We thought we'd be free. For we spread love For we spread life, And not cause harm and pray for glee. Oh they are building A panel named CULTURE, To cage those who illusion themselves to be superior, Those filthy little visitors, The humans, the only creatures to lack humanity. Oh we are protected, Oh we are safe, And yet we are free To have all the beauty, The land, the mother nature, The air, the populace, Of who we are the creator. But a little lack of food, Oh they care, for the diet maybe... And a little conceal to the beauty we hold, Oh they worry it'd be snatched, maybe... And a denial to get to this wall of CULTURE, Oh the fear of the caged maybe... But, why the fear of the caged, dear, For we are the valorous Who caged them maybe, Or from this distance away, We the free, could see only the front wall maybe... And after the fog of the culture we see, The roof of the wall spread To our side of freedom, And the four walls of guard was Around our side of beauty. And when this centuries of mist, Got wiped by the wit, The caged were us, Us, who maintained the populace, Us, who sustained all the grace, For the charm has to be protected, To allow filth to roam freely. The disguised under veil of CULTURE, was centuries of CONTROL, Under which we, the keepers of the serene, bleeded, Yet, they still call it protection.
