May the Grace
By Kaylor Jay
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
find me on mornings when I'm running on empty;
when my hands are full of plans
and my heart is full of doubt.
Let it be the quiet that steadies me.
And the love of God
not earned, not chased, not performed.
The kind that sits with me in traffic,
in waiting rooms, in ordinary Tuesdays.
The kind that calls me Mine before I've done anything right.
And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit
breathe in my lungs when I forget to pray,
a nudge to call that friend,
courage to start again,
peace that doesn't make sense on paper.
Be with us all, now and forevermore
not only when we have faith enough to ask,
but when all we have left
is the courage to stay.
Amen.
