✒️ Inkbound Writer's Club | Writing Prompt #01

By LaRae Pynas · English

Prompt #1: The Memory That Doesn't Belong You wake up one morning remembering something that never happened. Not a dream. Not a fleeting thought. A memory. You remember the smell of rain against a stranger's coat. The sound of someone calling you by a name you've never used. You remember making a promise to someone who, according to everyone around you, has never existed. Then, tucked inside a book you've owned for years, you discover a photograph. You're in it. And so is the person you remember. Your Challenge: Genre: Your choice! Mystery, horror, fantasy, romance, literary fiction, or something entirely different. Word Count: 300–1,000 words. Perspective: First or third person. The Twist: Your story must include one detail that makes the reader question everything they've just read. Bonus Challenge: End your story with a sentence that completely changes the meaning of its opening. 🖋️ Let's Talk! Once you've finished, share your piece with the club! Feel free to read and encourage other members' work, too. Remember, there isn't one correct way to interpret a prompt. Ten writers can begin with the same idea and create ten entirely different worlds. Now, Inkbound writers, where will your imagination take you? 📖
