Rough Drafts Are Allowed to Be Rough

Not everything posted here needs to be polished. A first draft may contain:
• placeholders
• awkward sentences
• missing descriptions
• repeated words
• terrible transitions
• scenes held together by sheer optimism
That is what drafts are for. Respond to the stage the writer tells you they are in. Do not critique a rough exploratory draft as though it has already gone through six revisions.
