Progress Is Not a Competition

Word counts can be fun. They can also be spectacularly misleading. One writer may draft 3,000 words while another spends the same afternoon restructuring a chapter, researching a historical detail, revising ten pages, or finding the sentence that finally makes a character click. Different work. Still progress. There is no leaderboard here.
