Try a Reset

If the page refuses to move, try one:
The Five-Minute Rule
Write for five minutes and give yourself permission to stop afterward.
Skip Ahead
Leave a placeholder and write the scene you actually want to reach.
Change the Format
Write the scene as dialogue only, bullet points, a summary, or even a letter from one character to another.
Start Somewhere Else
You do not have to begin at the beginning of the scene.
Tell Yourself the Story
Explain what happens next in plain language before trying to turn it into prose.
Change Your Environment
Different chair. Different room. Notebook instead of keyboard. Sometimes the brain enjoys novelty more than it deserves to.
End Mid-Sentence
When you stop for the day, leave yourself somewhere easy to restart.
