Halah Fatmi is an India-based 18 year old poet whose poem “The Black Rose” is forthcoming in the High School Poetry Special Issue of Nine Mile Magazine, USA. Nine Mile is one of America’s most respected independent literary institutions, founded in the mid-1990s in Syracuse, New York, a grantee-partner of the Poetry Foundation and supported by the New York State Council on the Arts. Publishing biannually, the magazine showcases only the best work deeply imbued with life, and its High School Special Issue is a highly selective national platform for emerging young poets. She is Champion of the World Youth Literary Poetry Competition, Hong Kong. She was ranked among the Top 100 Poets of India in the 25th National Poetry Contest, and is a 10-time Featured Author and Finalist at Hashtag Kalakar. She serves as Poetry Editor at Shadia Zine and is a Trinity Certified Pianist. Her creative nonfiction “BELOVED” is forthcoming in Bravehearted Goliaths (Wingless Dreamer), and her essay “Poetry as Legacy” is forthcoming with Wingless Dreamer Publishers.
