Their story
My Literary Journey Where Memory Became Poetry, and Poetry Became a Universe There are some journeys that begin with a destination. Mine began with a feeling. Long before I thought of myself as an author, I was drawn to the quiet things that most people pass by the changing colours of the sky, the scent of flowers after rain, the silence of an old house, the memories held by familiar places, and the strange ache that arrives when something beautiful is slowly becoming a part of the past.
I began to realise that places remember. A pond can remember the people who once sat beside it. A tree can carry the stories of generations. A season can bring back a person we thought we had forgotten. And sometimes, an abandoned house can feel more alive with memories than a crowded room. Writing became my way of listening to those memories.
The Poet Behind the Pages My literary identity emerged from this fascination with memory, emotion, nature, and the passage of time. I write under the pen name Parvati, a name that became a doorway into a more imaginative dimension of my creative self. For me, poetry is not simply the arrangement of beautiful words. It is a way of seeing.
I often begin with something small-a flower, a season, a childhood memory, an old place, a fleeting emotion-and allow it to expand into something larger. A personal memory can become a meditation on time. A landscape can become a metaphor for the human heart. A flower can become a symbol of love, loss, rebirth, or remembrance.
My poetry therefore lives somewhere between the intimate and the infinite. It is rooted in the earth, but it frequently looks towards the stars. The Violet Universe Over time, these individual poems and ideas began forming a larger imaginative landscape. This became what I think of as my Violet Universe. Violets, tulips, moonlight, aurorae, ancient roots, owls, gardens, forgotten houses and distant skies became more than aesthetic elements.
They became symbols through which I could explore memory, longing, identity, love, solitude, transformation and hope. The colour violet itself carries a special significance in this universe. It exists somewhere between the warmth of red and the depth of blue-a meeting point between passion and contemplation, earth and sky, emotion and thought.
That duality reflects much of my own writing. I am fascinated by the meeting point between opposites
