A bard of gilded tongue and barren fields, ever melancholy.

My writing journey
I am primarily a poet, though I do write short stories from time to time. I can be very angsty at times, though I try to restrain myself.
I am currently working on a larger fantasy story made up of poetry.
My favorite poem is Ozymandias, and I also enjoy Shakespeare.

Starlight
There are some places they say you can see galaxies
Though we see only a milky night
Only the golden tint of streetlamps
Alight in an obscuring haze
From behind the highway walls a dull glow rose
Painting the sky with maroon and dust
I looked up one night,
But instead of diamonds I saw only grey
I beheld the radio towers and the human pride of skyscrapers
I witnessed the distant flicker of headlights
Drowning out the darkness
And we were blinded, and could not see the stars.
Epithymía
roses burst into bloom at his presence
smiling warmly without a care
my breath is taken away,
ripped from my lungs
as his eyes meet mine
son of love incarnate,
divine, unreachable
his star-white wings brush my skin
but i turn and no one is there
a gift of silken flowers
smelling of ambrosia
and bitterness
withering within a week
reddened cheeks and kisses
breath warm and desperate
hands seeking the other's skin
without any meaning.
lysimeles, kallistos,
lover mine
and entirely unfeeling.
deep in my heart,
o cursed thing,
the truth of his love is known to me
i am inconsequential
entertainment until the next one comes
but my foolish soul
cannot help but be drawn to his gaze
though i know that nothing but pain awaits.
Introduction
The wind sings its despairing tune
And I cover my face in shame
Below me, I see the corpses of my fears
Hands tinged with ichor and red the same
i seem to hear it all
A bell ringing,
a brother's lament,
and I cry!
Sing, sun-stag, weep for your people
Their gold-tipped fields are burning
Marble is crumbling 'neath the gaze of the sun
and the season's rage is turning.
Lift up your hands!
Sing, I tell you, of white chrysanthemums
and wine-dark seas tainted with blood
The leaves are falling now,
have you noticed?
Golden flickers swept to the ground
Then away by cruel winds
Yet gentle and mourning
A forgotten age flashes by, fearful and trembling
Calm yourselves, my people,
thy fear is my burden
Worry not, o travelers,
the fields remain
feathered and fallow both
The way to the sea is still open
Starry sands rustle and hiss
but I?
I am shattered and hidden
Broken glass from sandy stars
Twisted gold
and splintered wings
Forgotten,
useless,
the chosen,
frightened,
a murderer!
I am Aetheras,
king of the western sun
And I command thee:
hear my song, heed my whisper…
that no more may you suffer…
and that I may atone for my sins.
