THE KEEPER OF QUIET LIGHT
by GAYATHRI NAIR C
There is a lantern inside every heart that has loved without condition. It does not blaze. It does not demand to be noticed. It burns with a patient light that neither storms nor silence can extinguish. The world mistakes this kind of love for absence because it does not announce itself. Yet it is often the truest presence we will ever know. It lives in prayers whispered for someone who will never hear them. It lives in celebrations held from afar. It lives in forgiveness that expects no apology. It lives in hope that asks for nothing in return. To love without condition is not to surrender yourself. It is to become a sanctuary where resentment cannot permanently reside. Some hearts carry entire lifetimes this way. Not because they cannot let go but because love has become part of their nature, like rivers remembering the sea.
