Dumbphinity
by Monica Hoppen
Dumbphinity
Dumbphinity, not even a word
My vicinity, still obscure
Eligibility, written word, proximity
Not what I deserved.
Leverage way beyond my capabilities
As I sit and reminisce simplicity.
I crave the world of regularity and familiarity
But what I get is disparity.
Words on a page don't even measure the gauge
As I sit and contemplate my inner rage.
I disengage to save all that is around me
Overwhelmed by what surrounds me
I fall deep
I'm drowning……….
Life is one savage; can you feel the damage?
Suffocating like a weak average, underachieving, barely being, feeling
I hate feeling………..
Knowing I feel less than appealing, y man reeling and my anxiety, my happiness stealing.
I wish I could cry a tear, but all is so far and never near
So in sadness I sit like a person not known
Never to navigate, unbeknown
To myself I will never be
For my true self all despise
No one understands
I don't even feel
This emotion is past life
You are no longer inside.
