AT LAST
by Lohitha Kola, United States. Second place in the Writory International Poetry Contest, February 2026, scored 96 out of 100.
AT LAST Sometimes love arrives late in a few tales, because love intends to stay. My love understood yours late. Your smile reached me late. Your struggles found me, long after they had shaped you. Your moments took years to become mine. Even your breath met mine slowly, as if air itself had to learn its way to us. Waiting to become one with your love, distance slowly lost its weight, struggles softened into stories, longing began to feel like belonging, and delay quietly taught me gratitude. Now, I long for the day to finally arrive at you, for the hour, when waiting finally feels like home. By Lohitha Kola
