Delivery Diaries
by senita beryl
We come in orange shirts
Picking up what you need from afar
We only see grumpy faces that say 'keep the parcel there' and don't even smile or say thank you
We try to find the location through GPS and at times go off track
What can we do?
It was not done on purpose
Now think of going to the 7th or 8th floor
Can you please send a youngster to pick your parcel?
It is exhausting to take the stairs after a long drive
We make sure that everyone experiences fine dining at home
But none wants to ask whether we had our dinner
The elevators don't cooperate
Our knees and spines beg for rest
We ride and ride
For some extras
For the school fees
For our parents treatment
Sleepless
Hoping things will get better
One day
