I Got Married Secretly
I kept it hidden for years.
I got married. And no one knew about it. Not my parents, not my closest friends, not even the people who think they know every little detail of my life.
There was no ceremony, no wedding dress, no photographs to post on Instagram. Just me, standing there, quietly making a promise that would change everything.
For the longest time, I didn’t talk about it. Maybe I was scared people wouldn’t understand. Maybe I didn’t want their opinions, their judgments, or their laughter. Because honestly — who gets married without anyone knowing?
I did.
And the truth is: my partner was never a person.
It was my dream.
For years, I flirted with it like a secret lover. I chased it some days and abandoned it on others. I always said, “Someday, I’ll give you the time you deserve.” But that day never came — until I realized that dreams, like people, walk away when you keep them waiting too long.
So I chose differently. Quietly. Without rings, without witnesses, without fanfare. I married my dream. I vowed to show up for it every single day. To be loyal even when things got hard. To remain committed even when doubt tried to creep in.
That’s why I kept it hidden. Because this was never about showing the world — it was about proving to myself that I could keep a promise.
And honestly? It’s the happiest marriage I’ve ever seen.
